RTA is pleased to announce a vacancy for a Receptionist/Sales Assistant. The last date of submission of applications is on or before July 23, 2016.

This vacancy is for the post of Receptionist/Sales Assistant. The selected candidate is required to perform the above two responsibilities on a rotation basis. The applicants are required to submit their documents as per the following:

  1. Cover Letter addressed to Executive Director, Royal Textile Academy
  2. CV/Resume
  3. Photocopy of Citizenship Identity Card
  4. NOC
  5. NOC from Current Employer, if presently employed
  6. Medical Certificate
  7. Reference Letters (If Applicable)
  8. Academic Transcripts (Class X and XII)
  9. Any other certificates of relevance

Procedure for Selection

  1. The applicants will be shortlisted based on their academic performance in Class X and XII, assessment of the Cover Letter and Experience.
  2. Names of shortlisted candidates will be announced on July 25, 2016.
  3. Selection Interview will be conducted on July 28, 2016.
  4. Final Selection Result will be announced on January 29, 2014.

 


Terms of Reference for Receptionists

  • The receptionists will be placed at the reception counter in Textile Museum, RTA.
  • Respond to Calls
  • Maintain proper records of no. of tourists/visitors and be able to furnish the figures at any point of time.
  • Maintain accounts for entry tickets sold at the counter.
  • Liaise tourists / visitors visiting the Textile Museum.
  • Maintain cleanliness at the counter and the lobby area and advice the cleaner to keep the lobby area neat and clean.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor(s).
  • The selected candidate shall be on contract for a period of six months after which his/her service shall be reviewed.
  • The selected candidate shall be placed equivalent to RTA Grade C4 of the RTA Administrative and Service Rules

Terms of Reference for Sales Assistant

  • Be involved in stock control and management.
  • Assisting shoppers to find the goods and products they are looking for.
  • Being responsible for processing cash and card payments.
  • Stocking shelves with merchandise.
  • Answering queries from customers.
  • Reporting discrepancies and problems to the supervisor.
  • Giving advice and guidance on product selection to customers.
  • Balancing cash registers with receipts.
  • Dealing with customer refunds.
  • Keeping the store tidy and clean,
  • Responsible dealing with customer complaints.
  • Working within established guidelines, particularly with brands.
  • Attaching price tags to merchandise on the shop floor.
  • Responsible for security within the store and being on the lookout for shoplifters and fraudulent credit cards etc.
  • Receiving and storing the delivery of large amounts of stock
  • Keeping up to date with special promotions and putting up displays.
