The Winter Weaving Program for the school going children started at the Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan on December 23, 2019.
The participants are from Thimphu and Paro. During the next 20 days, the students will be taught basic weaving skills. By the end of the training they will have the skill to weave plain/ simple motif scarves. In addition, to the skill we provide stipend and certificate.

The Weaving program for the students is conducted by the RTA to meaningfully engage the students during their vacation. In addition, by imparting the skill of traditional weaving techniques to the younger generation the RTA is ensuring the continuation of weaving skills.
