A team consisting of four members from the RTA are at Dungkar Nagtshang, Kurtoe in Lhuentse to assess the textile components mainly Thangkas (religious scrolls) for necessary conservation treatment. There are about 30 Thangkas at Nagtshang for which a detailed treatment plan will be prepared and proposed.

Dungkar Nagtshang, the ancient home of Dungkar Choeje and the ancestral home of the Wangchuck Dynasty will be converted into โ€˜Wangchuck Heritage Centre’, to showcase the day to day life of Desid Jigme Namgyal in the court and understand his descendants and noble deeds. This project is being initiated by Lhuentse Dzongkhag Administration and the RTA is providing expertise in textile components and the establishment of the galleries and display.
