The Department of Information and Media (DoIM), Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) in line with its mandate to help promote contemporary and creative arts in the country, is organizing a Photo Exhibition in collaboration with the Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan (RTAB).The objectives for organizing this exhibition are:- To encourage local photographers to pursue their passion- To provide networking opportunities with other established artists, and – To promote appreciation of the art of photography in the country- To provide a platform for photographers to showcase their skills and creativity.

The submission of entries was open from 1st March until 22nd March. We received a total of 848 entries from 109 participants of which 93 were male and 16 female. The participants were Bhutanese nationals from across the country including Civil Servants, Monks, college and school students, and Bhutanese nationals residing outside the country such as Australia, Myanmar, Nepal, and India. In addition, we also received an entry from a foreigner residing in Bhutan.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the participants who submitted their photographs for the Exhibition. The exhibition of the selected photos will be held for a duration of five days towards the end of April 2021.
๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ ๐ฉ๐ก๐จ๐ญ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐ก๐ฌ
A panel of five judges from the Department of Information and Media, Ministry of Information and Communications, Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan, and an external expert judged the photos. The selection of photographs were based on a simple majority vote. Of the 848 photos, the committee selected a total of 205 photographs for the catalog and only 140 will be displayed for exhibition at the RTAB due to the capacity of the gallery.
