Zhabdrung Phuensum Tshogpa Thongdrol

Consecration: Tsuglag Lopen Samten Dorji consecrated the Zhabdrung Phuensum Tshogpa Thongdrol at the Royal Textile Academy (RTA) in Chubachu, Thimphu yesterday.

The patron of Textile Museum and Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan, Her Majesty Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck graced the event.

RTA commissioned the Throngdrol to honor His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo’s legacy in commemoration of His Majesty’s 60th birth anniversary.

The thongdrol, which stands 34 feet tall and runs 23 feet wide is made of different types of silk and brocade, and features a series of Buddhist masters and Zhabdrung’s previous incarnations.
